Mars to Pittsburgh to Chicago to Los Angeles - Monday, 10 June 2019

The morning started out bright and early. Up at 6:15 and ready to go by 7:40 when Earle went to pick up Sharon. Our driver was a bit early and did a wonderful job of bypassing Pittsburgh rush hour traffic. Just a short line to drop off luggage and through security thanks to TSA pre check.
.

Flight to Chicago was overbooked and they were offering $500 for people to give up their seats. Barbara, Charles, Lois, and Gerald had a similar situation on their flight from Cincy, except they were offering $1500 there.

We met at the gate in Chicago waiting to board our flight to LAX. Again, another packed flight. About a four hour flight and we got in a few minutes early. As promised to Amy, I am  expanding my pathetic knowledge of Disney princesses and I watched Frozen.

Also read a bit. Trying to finished Bryson’s In a Sunburned Country. It wasn't too bad of a flight. Arrived at 3:25 with plenty of time until the flight to Brisbane at 11:20.

We arrived at LAX  and had to make our way to the Tom Bradley International Terminal. We walked and walked and walked for at least 25 minutes. Decided we should scour out a place for dinner. The choices weren't many and we opted for P.F.Changs. Started with drinks and the some dinner. Vegetarian fried rice, dynamite shrimp, sweet and sour chicken were our choices.

After dinner headed to the concourse to charge electronics only to find our flight was possibly delayed 40 minutes. Let's hope the board is right.

So a few hours to kill and to stay awake.

Watched the end of the Pirates game. What a bad call to toss Musgrove.

So we here we sit, well some stretched out. It’s nearly 8:30  (11:30 am EDT) and we are looking at a 14 hour flight.

Hopefully, the next post will be on Wednesday. We lose Tuesday on this trip.
